There are some light messaging in it, like how a volunteer army is more effective than a conscripted one, but otherwise it's just colorful fluff. I do not know too much about artists themselves but they published several hour long albums around early 2000s. Most of the songs are themed around romance, falling in love and expression of feelings for another person (often implied to be the listener). What makes these works special is that, at least for me, they create a great illusion of fantasy being real. It feels like you and the character from the song are really existing together.
